A host of talented young Netball stars at Rydal Penrhos have been rewarded for their fine efforts throughout the season with individual awards.
It has been another campaign of encouraging progression across all year groups at the school during a busy series of fixtures over the spring term, and a select few were chosen by Head of Girls’ Games Nicky Head and announced at Rydal Penrhos’ Prizegiving Assembly on Friday, April 5.
The Year 7 Player of the Year accolades went to the hugely committed Jasmin Beckett-Donald, with Sophie Hall’s outstanding development securing her the Most Improved Player of the Year title.
Sports scholar Ariana Milligan came away with the Year 8 Player of the Year after a series of standout displays, and Martha Hind’s tireless commitment was acknowledged with the Most Improved Player of the Year.
Emily Thomas’ contribution to the Year 9 squad saw her come away with the Player of the Season accolade, with Ester Ball-Iverson’s exceptional start to life at Rydal Penrhos continuing with the Most Improved Player of the Year honour.
Rounding off the achievements were the Year 10 duo of Gloria Johnson and Megan Gibson, who were the Player and Most Improved Player of the Year recipients from this particular age group.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “It has been very pleasing to see our young netballers progressing their respective skill-sets both individually within their respective teams.
“This is an essential part of their overall development in terms of improving communication techniques and ability to motivate, and congratulations to all the worth award winners on their fine campaigns in Rydal Penrhos colours.”
