Aspiring Preparatory School performing artists took to the stage for a highly anticipated festive event.
Rydal Penrhos held its annual Pre-Prep Christmas Concert over two days from Tuesday, December 11 and Wednesday 12, which drew large crowds of staff and family members to the shows.
This year’s show was entitled “It’s a Baby” and was a depiction of the Nativity with a comical twist.
Each pupil had been working incredibly hard in rehearsals under the expert support of dedicated staff at the Prep School, and the play was narrated superbly by Ella Ffowcs Williams and Harrison Simmons.
Beatrice Brookes-Fazakerley and Elliot Spall took on the roles of Mary and Joseph with aplomb, with Lili Robinson-Scoots, Oscar Kennedy-Evans and Charlotte Knight performing well as the three wise men.
Another standout contribution came from Keelan Shilton as the Angel Gabriel, and William Aspell’s Innkeeper performance brought a great deal of humour to the showcase.
Darcy Taylor, Lissy Williams, Freddie Griffin, Jaxson Lynch, Clara Donohue, Francesca Berklay, Ella Lloyd-Bloom and Alexandra Lopez-Moreno were outstanding in their roles as Travellers, with Early Years, Reception and Year 1 also playing a key role with various singing and dancing solos that left everyone in attendance with plenty of Christmas spirit.
Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “Our Pre-Prep Christmas Musical is always such a fun-filled and festive occasion, and each pupil did a truly exceptional job of performing in front of a live audience over the two days.
“Their commitment and dedication during rehearsals were matched by our incredible staff team, who continue to work tirelessly to enhance every experienced afforded to our pupils here at Rydal Penrhos.”
