A young Martial Artists has reached the pinnacle of his craft after securing a prestigious honour.
Nathan Richards, a Year 4 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, is now the proud owner of a Karate Black belt after successfully coming through his 1st Dan grading last month.
The nine-year-old has been working incredibly hard at Adrian Wright’s Martial Arts Academy in Rhos on Sea to give him the best possible chance of succeeding, and he came through his assessment with flying colours to come away with the distinction.
A spokesman from the academy, said: “Nathan has shown himself to be a person of outstanding character and has met all the requirements of high proficiency in prescribed techniques during his examination.”
He received his belt and a certificate acknowledging his super effort from Year 2 teacher Gaynor Davies at Rydal Penrhos’ Celebration Assembly on Friday, April 20.
Nathan has no set his sights on rising through the various Black Belt levels in the coming months and years to further enhance his knowledge of the discipline.
Deputy Head Alison Hind, said: “To achieve such an honour despite being just nine-years-old is an absolutely staggering achievement, and one that Nathan should be enormously proud of.
“He is a highly motivated young man who has shown a tremendous dedication to achieve his overall goal, and everyone at Rydal Penrhos is absolutely thrilled for him.”
