A gifted musician at Rydal Penrhos is celebrating after achieving a notable exam grading success.
Niamh Cook, a Year 9 pupil at the school, recently sat her Grade 8 piano exam administered by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, and the 14-year-old scored an incredible 130 for her efforts.
This score ensured that Niamh achieved a distinction, which represents a significant achievement for someone so young.
Father James Cook, said: “We are extremely proud of Niamh’s achievement and it was a sense of relief to finally get results after a couple of weeks of not knowing.”
Director of Music Pete Williams, added: “This is a truly remarkable achievement from Niamh, who is one of the most talented musicians we have here at Rydal Penrhos.
“To gain a distinction in such a high grade represents this, but also demonstrates her incredible work ethic and desire to be the best she can be, and Niamh should be immensely proud of her efforts as we all are here at the school.”
The talented pupil will now begin working hard in the hope of achieving further success in the future.
