An international Sailing star proved there is far more to his talents with a strong set of GCSE results.
Ewan Luke, who has achieved a host of regional, national and international triumphs on the water with 29er partner Zac Blomeley, added to his impressive list of accolades as results were published nationwide on Thursday, August 24.
The 16-year-old managed to secure five A* grades in Biology, Geography, Physics, Mathematics and Religious Studies, while also scoring As in Business Studies, Chemistry and Physical Education.
He also achieved a seven grade in English (First Language) in accordance with the new grading system, with the gifted pupil also achieving a Distinction from Additional Mathematics.
Ewan will now look to maintain his impressive list of achievements since arriving at Rydal Penrhos as a Reception class pupil in 2008 when he joins the school’s highly successful Sixth Form from September, where he will be studying Mathematics, Economics, Physics and Design Technology as he looks to pursue a career in Engineering in the future.
To enhance his learning on his chosen career path the pupil spent a portion of his summer break at two week-long work experience placements at Siemens Healthineers and ESB at Moneypoint Generating Station in Ireland.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “Ewan has balanced his strenuous training regime and his GCSE revision superbly well, which is reflected in his very strong final results.
