A high kicking Preparatory School pupil moved one step closer to a Karate Black Belt thanks to ra recent grading success.
Lucy Ranales-Griffiths, a Year 3 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, was rewarded for her hard work during preparation with a Brown Belt Tabs distinction over the Easter break.
The assessment took place at the John Lynn’s Black Belt Academy in Colwyn Bay, and the eight-year-old coped with the pressure superbly to move another step up the ladder.
She will now begin preparations in the hope of further grading success at the Academy in the coming weeks.
This is the latest in a long line of martial arts success from, Rydal Penrhos pupils, with a number giving up their own time to gain extra-curricular qualifications and success.
Prep School head Roger McDuff, said: “Lucy has worked immensely hard to rise quickly through the different levels, and it is great to hear that she is now within touching distance of gaining a Black Belt.
“She is just one of a host of talented pupils that attend the Academy, and learning a new skill such as Karate improves self-confidence and belief, which is something we encourage here at Rydal Penrhos.”
