A Preparatory School pupil has been putting her summer holiday to good use by taking part in a host of activities.
Lucy Ranales-Griffiths, a Year 3 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, has been enhancing both her learning and experiences in a series of different areas over the past few weeks.
The eight-year-old has been taking part in a special surfing course at the nearby Surf Snowdonia site, and has also been making FSE100 investments with her Grandfather and trying to “beat the system”.
In the field of music, Lucy has recently taken her Grade One Piano exam, and has sat her singing assessment after working immensely hard both in-and-out of school.
The Rydal Penrhos pupil is also attempting to learn Spanish with her Abuelo, in addition to practising her persuasive advocacy skills at mock trials alongside classmate and friend Tilly Trueman.
If that wasn’t enough, the all-round talent is working towards her Badge Six in Gymnastics, and she has continued her fine form on the court with a gold medal performance at a regional tennis tournament.
She has also recently tried her hand at sailing with positive results, with her Karate exploits also receiving a boost after Lucy achieved her Brown and White belt in Karate 1st Kyu.
Deputy head Alison Hind, said: “This is an extraordinary set of activities that Lucy is taking part in, and full credit to her for trying both new and old experiences all in the name of learning.
“Things like this are something we actively encourage here at Rydal Penrhos, and I know that many of our other pupils will also be working very hard in numerous areas and subjects in order to hit the ground running once again when they return in September.”
