A group of Rydal Penrhos pupils performed well at a National Business and Accounting competition recently.
The school entered two teams in the ICAEW BASE event in Chester last month, with both sides coming out of the day with an enormous amount of credit.
BASE is ICAEW’s National Business and Accounting competition for pupils in school or college aged 16-19.
They engage in a business challenge that enables them to develop key employability skills and understand what it’s like to be an ICAEW Chartered Accountant.
Head of Business Studies and ICT Mike Farnell, said: “The two Rydal Penrhos teams impressed all day, working as a team to advise a company on what strategic decisions it should undertake, followed by a professional presentation of their ideas to a panel of judges.
“Olivia Rogerson, Olivia Williams, Llywelyn Cowell and Matthew Trumper all impressed with their presenting skills; with Matthew, Finn Batley, Elinor Davies and Llywelyn answering some difficult questions from the judges with insight and confidence.
“All pupils involved represented the school amicably and well done to all.”
