A large number of Lower School pupils at Rydal Penrhos were recognised for the academic effort with special awards.
The six Year 7 and 8 pupils secured Effort, Attainment and Progress Prizes during the school’s annual Speech Day event, which took place on Saturday, May 26.
The prizes were presented to each pupil by Old Rydalian and special guest speaker Flt Lt Nathan Jones, and were given in recognition of their impressive development and achievement across all departments throughout another hugely successful academic year.
Lily Davies, Kosi Iwobi and Melissa Vos have thrived since making the transition to Senior School life, and they were the three Year 7 pupils that were presented with the distinction, while Ethan Bytheway, James Copeland and Dominic Vos all scooped the same prizes for Year 8.
All were given the chance to purchase books as a result of their consistent and determined approach to their studies under the guidance of dedicated and supportive staff at the school.
Deputy Head Tim Cashell, said: “All six pupils are not only very talented academics, but they also work incredibly hard and are very enthusiastic in their respective approaches to their learning, something that is sure to stand them in good stead as they progress through the remainder of their school life with us at Rydal Penrhos.
“It is important that even the youngest pupil within the school receives the same amount of recognition for their work as out Upper Sixth Formers, which can serve as a great source of inspiration as they go in search of further success in the future.”
