A well-rounded individual who has been a member of the school community for more than a decade, Cerys will be taking on numerous roles during the upcoming Dramatic Society production of Les Misérables.
The Middle School pupil has been with us since Reception after enrolling in 20226 and has developed considerably from an academic perspective during this time, as well as making a name for herself during various co-curricular opportunities available at Rydal Penrhos.
Cerys’ crowning glory so far was her national success as part of the Rotary International Youth Speaks competition in 2017, which saw her secure an eye-catching national triumph.
Together with teammates Sydney Johnson and Kevin Farrell, who qualified for the event after winning their local, regional and district heats in fine style, once again produced a phenomenal display on their chosen topic ‘Guilt – is it good or bad?’, to come away with runners-up for their wonderful efforts.
There was further success for Cerys in the competition with the news that she was named the Best Chairperson of any team in the finals, making her number one throughout the country.
Her acting prowess also came to the fore during the recent GCSE examination performance, and Cerys has also lent her support Inter-House Drama competitions to further enhance her experience in front of a live audience.
She has also achieved success in the UK Maths Trust’s Intermediate Challenge, and her sporting progression and leadership skills saw Cerys named as 2nd VII Netball captain by Head of Girls’ Games Nicky Head.
