As part of a special series of summer features, we turn our attention to our Year 6 pupils as we reflect on their accomplishments and get the perspective of departing Headmaster Roger McDuff.
The latest instalment features the very talented Zac Hay:
It has been another year of great success for Zac, who has emerged as a valuable member of the Year 6 group as the academic year has progressed.
His efforts on the water as part of Rydal Penrhos’ sailing squad have been of an extremely high standard, something which has seen his performance levels reached heights they have not previously.
He is also a very committed pupil academically with a great passion for Science, and his presence is sure to be of a huge benefit to the senior site when he begins the next stage of his journey in just a few short weeks.
The 10-year-old also contributed significantly to the success of the production of The Lion King in what has been an action packed final year at the Prep, which he has been a part of since arriving as a Year 4 pupil.
In recognition for his fantastic efforts Zac was presented with the Science Prize, the Forest School Prize and he also received the Most Improved Sailor prize at Rydal Penrhos’ annual Speech Day last month.
Mr McDuff, said: “Zac is a delight to know. Don't get me wrong, you have to keep on your toes because he could actually do anything. But he is a real delight.
“He is a deep thinker who is desperate to please and he deserves to succeed. He is the source of an enormous amount of fun (and indeed the occasional crossing of the line).
“He is consequently the type of person we would all like to call our friend. He is an amazing scientist, with a real in-depth fascination for the subject and he is going to flourish when he makes his way to the Senior School in September.”
