As part of a special series of summer features, we turn our attention to our Year 6 pupils as we reflect on their accomplishments and get the perspective of departing Headmaster Roger McDuff.
The latest instalment features the football captain Oliver Davies:
A leader both on the football pitch and in the classroom, Oliver has thrived as a member of Year 6.
He has emerged as a significant presence at Rydal Penrhos thanks to his dedication, outgoing personality and determination to achieve his goals.
The school’s U11 football side enjoyed an enormous amount of success due to the 11-year-old’s consistent performances and his motivational techniques to inspire other members of the group.
There is not a great deal that the pupil does not turn his hand to or excel at, and he will be looking to attain further accolades in the coming years as a member of Rydal Penrhos’ senior which, where he will commence the next step of his education journey next month.
In recognition for his exceptional efforts throughout the academic year, Oliver was a worthy recipient of the Football Prize as well as a Headmaster’s Award for effort, energy, and enthusiasm at Rydal Penrhos’ annual Speech Day last month.
Mr McDuff, said: “Where has time gone? How on earth has Olly got to the end of Year 6 and his life at the Prep School?
“He has always been here and has always been a real constant force for good. His smile, his enthusiasm, his zest for life are always there and his contributions over the years have been enormous.
“As we have seen in Café Dolphin he is also a bit of a mover and he is going to thrive at our senior school here at Rydal Penrhos.”
