A Preparatory School pupil took to the kitchen in order to gain a special honour.
Laurence Richmond, a Year 2 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, channelled his inner chef to gain his cooking badge from his local Beavers group, based in Colwyn Heights.
To earn the recognition, the seven-year-old had to successfully complete a number of cooking-related tasks, including baking your own bread.
He even managed to conjure up his very own pasta Bolognese that was tasted by brother and Year 4 pupil Benjamin, in addition to parents Gillean and Peter, who is Head of Mathematics at the Senior School.
Laurence was acknowledged for his fine efforts at Rydal Penrhos’ weekly Celebration Assembly, which was held on Friday, February 17.
Prep School head Roger McDuff, said: “Congratulations go to Laurence for achieving his cooking badge, and from what I’ve been told his dishes were very tasty indeed.
“Groups like the Beavers do a wonderful job of teaching new skills and building confidence outside of the classroom, and it is great to see our pupils here at Rydal Penrhos taking on different challenges that are sure to benefit them significantly in the future.”
