A host of Preparatory School pupils were the latest to achieve success in a special spelling challenge.
Rydal Penrhos staff devised a new spelling challenge for pupils last year, which has three different levels each with 110 words.
The pupils have been encouraged to work towards their incremental targets of Gold, Silver and Bronze within each stage, and a host of certificates have already been issued as a result of their hard work since the initiative began.
This week saw four pupils climb one step further on the ladder, with Year 4 Keira Luke becoming the latest pupil to complete the challenge after gaining her Stage Three Gold Award after a magnificent effort.
Violet Roberts and Gracie Tavernor moved on to the final level after successfully gaining their Stage Two Gold honour, while Lily Copeland now has a Stage Two level under her belt after completing the Bronze test.
All four pupils received their certificates at Rydal Penrhos’ weekly Celebration Assembly on Friday, May 12.
Deputy Head Alison Hind, who started the scheme, said: “This challenge is something that has really inspired our pupils, and it is fantastic to see so many thriving as they strive for gold.
“Congratulations to Keira for producing a fantastic effort to complete the task, while I am sure it won’t be long before Gracie and Violet emulate her achievements.
“Special mention goes to Lily who is motoring through the stages despite only being in Year Three.”
