A Sixth Form pupil at Rydal Penrhos is looking to pursue a career in the film industry after securing some impressive university offers.
James Cocking, a Year 13 pupil at the school, has chosen the University of Gloucester as his further education establishment of choice, where he plans to study Film Production pending the necessary A-level results this summer.
The 18-year-old arrived at Rydal Penrhos at the start of his Sixth Form journey in 2017, and he quickly emerged as a standout academic with a real passion for all creative aspects offered within the school’s thriving co-curricular provision.
James has also played a significant role in the Sixth Form Charity Committee, who have raised a substantial amount for regional and national causes throughout the academic year.
Senior School Head Sally Ann Harding, said: “This is tremendous news for James and I know it is something he has worked very hard to achieve.
“He impressed considerably during the application process and received the right guidance and support from his tutor and the rest of the Sixth Form staff team, and hopefully he can take this confidence into his A-level examinations in the coming weeks as he looks to on to bigger things in the not-too-distant future.”
