A talented young artist has been putting her skills to good use to earn another significant honour.
Isabella Peevor, a Year 6 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, is now the proud owner of a limited edition Diamond Blue Peter badge, which have been produced to mark the 60th anniversary of the iconic children’s show.
During the application process, the 11-year-old had to write a short piece about why she is deserving of the badge, before producing a fantastic drawing surrounding one of her favourite Blue Peter moments.
She also devised a short poem based on the word “Diamond” to further enhance her submission.
This milestone follows on from Isabella’s phenomenal success in the recent BBC Comic Relief Red Nose design competition, where her creation managed to finish second out of thousands of entries nationwide.
She will travel to London later this year for a special ceremony, where her design will be brought to life and sold all across the country.
Deputy Head Alison Hind, said: “Isabella has enjoyed an enormous amount of success this year, and full credit goes to her and to Art teacher Suzy Morris for encouraging her at every opportunity.
“Her Blue Peter badge award is something Issy can take a great amount of pride in, and hopefully this will spur her on to bigger and better things in the future.”
