A Preparatory School pupil has received a notable distinction from a long-running BBC children’s show in recognition of a recent selfless act.
Isabella Peevor, a Year 6 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, was awarded with a Blue Peter Badge after inspiring someone to take up a new sport.
The ten-year-old was a hugely influential presence on her friend as she attempted rock climbing for the very first time, and was on hand to lend advice and support throughout the session.
Badge owners can gain free entry into more than 200 Blue Peter Badge Attractions around the country, like theme parks, zoos and castles.
They are awarded for interesting letters, stories, makes, pictures, poems, good ideas for the programme, and for having appeared on the show.
Deputy Head Alison Hind, said: “This is a fantastic honour to receive and one that Isabella can be enormously proud of.
“Leading is one of our five tenets here at Rydal Penrhos and this is a prime example of this being implemented. Isabella demonstrated tremendous leadership skills to not only inspire her take up what can be a daunting sport for many, but to offer her assistance in any way possible and make sure her friend got the maximum enjoyment out of the whole experience.”
