India team hold special Senior School Chapel

Members of Rydal Penrhos’ India team held a special assembly ahead of their landmark trip later this year.

The group talked in front of the whole Senior School on Wednesday, April 18, where they discussed all aspects of their trip, what they hope to gain from it and the upcoming fundraising day with an exciting Indian theme.

Ethan Davies and Edward Patrick began by outlining what they have planned during their time in the country, which includes visiting iconic landmarks such as the Taj Mahal and a possible audience with his holiness the Dalai Lama.

This was followed by contributions from Tallulah Batley and William Stewart, who spoke about what they are most looking forward to, and what they expected from their trek throughout the Himalayan mountains.

Miles Poller and Abhishek Bathula then outlined the details surrounding their India Charity Day on Friday, which will be raising funds for the projects they will be working with during their excursion.

The chapel concluded with a reading from Chaplain the Reverend Nick Sissons and a prayer from Head of Lower School Gabriella Murphy, who will be the group during what is expected to be an unforgettable trip.

They have been preparing for the trip over the last few months, which included a recent trek in testing conditions up Snowdon under the expert leadership of Duke of Edinburgh co-ordinator Dr Jim Lewis.
