A group of Preparatory School musicians showcased their fantastic skills at a special event this week.
Rydal Penrhos Prep School held its first Young Performers’ Concert of the academic year on Tuesday, October 2, with the group working incredibly hard in the lead-up to the event under the expert guidance and support of Music teacher Richard Davies.
Lawrence Aspell opened proceedings with a superb Ukulele solo, before Noah Roberts demonstrated his fantastic Piano talent with an accomplished performance.
Next up was Year 4 pupil Lewis Jellicoe, who showed incredible poise during his Piano solo, and Year 6 pupil Rana Abou-Samra also caught the eye with her contribution on the same instrument.
Amber England-Bryant, who is a new arrival to Rydal Penrhos, marked her debut performance with supreme confidence during a signing and Ukulele effort, and the talented pair of Zack Coverley and Will McLaughlin gave their customary brilliant contributions on the Piano.
Rounding off the concert was Tristan Griffiths, who blew everyone away with his completely improvised and technically exceptional drum solo to the smash hit Burn by Ellie Goulding.
Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “Our Young Performers’ Concerts are always a great way for our aspiring musicians to develop their confidence and self-esteem in front of a live audience, and once again each pupil did themselves enormously proud throughout the event.
“Mr Davies did a wonderful job of preparing them for the concert in every way possible, and this was reflected in their truly outstanding efforts.”
