A group of Preparatory School pupils got the chance to hone their Information Computer Technology skills during a special event.
Jamie McLeod, Head of Boys’ Games and Year 6 form tutor at Rydal Penrhos, arranged some ICT Activity Days immediately following the conclusion of term, which gave those in attendance plenty of helpful tips surrounding the subject that will stand them in extremely good stead ahead of the challenges that lie ahead for the remainder of the academic year.
The enthusiastic contingent got to grips with a number of different elements involving coding, robotics, in addition to some special Lego Mind Storm challenges implemented by Mr McLeod.
They also got the opportunity to explore some Lego amination and Raspberry PI projects, and the pupils heard to a very informative lecture from former pupil and current parent Ed Brookes on the history of the computer and how they have worked and developed over time.
Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “ICT is an ever increasing influence in everyday life and it is essential that our pupils are fully prepared for its influence in the months and years to come.
“This is something we implement not only into our curriculum, but also with special activity days such as this during the holidays. I would like to thank Mr McLeod for putting together such a fantastic programme and to Mr Brookes for giving up his time to deliver a lecture as part of the initiative.”
