A number of primary schools from across the region will descend on Rydal Penrhos for a special academic event this week.
The school will be hosting a Year 5 Maths Challenge at the Memorial Hall on Wednesday, February 20, with teams looking to secure bragging rights from what is expected to be a fun-filled and thought provoking morning.
During the competition, each team will be tasked with successfully completing a series of different tasks designed by the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust under the support and guidance of teaching staff and members of the school’s Sixth Form Prefect team.
The ever-popular relay round will make a welcome return and promises to once again be a huge deciding factor in the overall outcome, and there will be a special prize for the top three teams once the final scores have been counted by Rydal Penrhos’ Head of Mathematics Rhian Williams.
Senior School Head Sally Harding, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming everyone competing in Wednesday’s Year 5 Maths Challenge, which promises to be a fascinating morning for all involved.
“I would like to thank our dedicated staff for devising another fantastic series of different challenges that will test our young number-crunching hopefuls, and good luck to all those takeing part.”
