A host of activities have been organised later this week as Rydal Penrhos lends its support to a nationwide fundraising initiative.
The school’s Sixth Form Charity Committee have devised an action-packed schedule in support of their annual BBC Children in Need Day, which will be held on Friday, November 16.
All year groups will be taking part in the official Children in Need quiz throughout the week, and there will be tasty treats on offer at a charity cake sale during morning break on the day.
Male teaching staff will go through the pain barrier for the good cause, and they will be having their legs waxed during lunchtime in what should be a highly entertaining affair for those in attendance.
There will also be a fancy dress option where pupils can turn out in something beginning with the letter ‘P’ for a small donation.
Polka dots and Pudsey the Bear costumes will also be acceptable attire for the occasion.
The Charity Committee got everyone in the mood for the event at a special Chapel last week to outline what will be happening and what the money raised will go towards.
Deputy Head Tim Cashell, said: “Our Sixth Form Charity Committee have done a marvellous job of arranging plenty of activities in aid of Children in Need, which is something we have supported significantly over many years.
“It is an extremely worthy cause and hopefully our fantastic Senior School community will ensure that this year’s event with bring with it similar success.”
