Hockey: U11 side turn in series of exceptional results during fine campaign

Preparatory School hockey stars have enjoyed a fantastic season to date, turning in some impressive results thanks to their outstanding teamwork.

Rydal Penrhos’ U11 side have been working incredibly hard under the expert coaching of Head of Girls’ Games Jude Pyves in recent weeks, working on their technique, positioning and communication to develop their talents.

This has brought with it some eye-catching performances, with the group recording a superb 5-0 victory over Oswestry School.

Keira Luke was the star of the show during the contest, hitting no fewer than four goals during the triumph, with Gracie Tavernor also getting on the scoresheet to round off the scoring.

They followed this up with an excellent 4-0 success over St Mary’s Hall, before securing a notable 3-0 win against The Firs.

A hard-fought game against Packwood Haugh resulted in a 3-3 draw, where Year 5 pupil Charlotte Payne hit a brace.

Fflur Pierce, Frey Berklay, Pippa Roberts and goalkeeper Sophie Edwards have also all contributed heavily to their hugely successful recent run of results, with Year 5 pupil Lily Copeland also shining for the side.

Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “Our U11 Hockey side have been a credit to us all here at Rydal Penrhos during a very busy term, and their consistent level of performances are a testament to their outstanding determination and the preparation they are receiving from Mrs Pyves and the rest of the coaching team.

“Hopefully this is just the start of even greater things for the group and I look forward to hearing about further success in the future.”
