Hockey: U14 side record impressive win at St Anselm's College

Young hockey stars at Rydal Penrhos continued their fine season with a 6-2 win at St Anselm’s College.

The U14 side turned in another fabulous all-round display to emerge from a difficult encounter with a comfortable victory, a result that will give them plenty of confidence ahead of the North Wales tournament later this month.

Tegid Goodman-Jones maintained his excellent form since arriving at the school with a flawless display in-front of goal, helping himself to a hat-trick which gave the visitors a formidable platform to build on.

Zach Speakman and Adrian Lewis also found the target during the contest, with man-of-the-match Fin Hare capping off an impressive individual performance with a neat finish.

Deputy Head Tim Cashell, said: “This was a comprehensive team win, though, and as reigning National Champions, the group should feel confident to make the Finals when the qualifying tournament is played soon.”

The U13A team suffered a 6-1 loss at King’s School Chester, with Tom Hughes hitting a consolation in the clash, which also featured an outstanding performance from visiting stopper Aidan Skinner.

A brace from Josh Stewart was not enough to prevent the U12A side from falling to a 6-2 loss at King’s in what was an encouraging display.
