Two Preparatory School pupils have been rewarded for their leadership abilities with prominent sporting positions ahead of the new Hockey season.
Jude Pyves, Head of Girls’ Games at Rydal Penrhos, announced her decision at the Prep School’s weekly Celebration Assembly on Friday, September 28, with Year 6 pupil Fflur Pierce handed the captaincy ahead of a busy series of fixtures for all year groups.
The 11-year-old is a well-rounded pupil who is thriving in a multitude of academic subjects and co-curricular activities, and Fflur is an enormously popular member of her year group and is the sister of former Senior School head boy Adam Sabri.
She will be aided in her role by Gracie Tavernor, who was appointed as Vice-Captain as a result of her outstanding performances and overall ability to motivate and inspire a talented U11 side that have enjoyed an enormous amount of success.
Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “Both Fflur and Gracie are fantastic individuals who come to life in a sporting environment, and they are thoroughly deserving of the extra responsibility afforded to them by Mrs Pyves for the new Hockey season.
“Their experience, leadership and overall influence are going to be a huge asset for the team going forward, and I hope they can carry on Rydal Penrhos’ fine tradition of achievements and we wish them well in their respective roles.”
