A prominent North Wales restaurant has lent its support to a special fundraising initiative put on by a Rydal Penrhos parent group.
The Friends of Rydal Penrhos Committee have organised a Crayon Clear-Out, where people will donate their unused, unwanted or broken crayons to be recycled.
This will raise money that will be used to support projects within the school, and Hickory’s Smokehouse in Rhos-on-Sea have decided to assist with the campaign by having a collection box located at the site.
Staff at the popular restaurant will put crayons used by their customers into the box as part of their contribution to the cause, which is the latest in a series of initiatives put on by the parent group throughout the year to raise funds for regional and national causes in addition to the school.
Prep School Deputy Head Alison Hind, said: “This is a fantastic gesture from Hickory’s and we are delighted that they are supporting our Crayon Clear-Out.
“Huge thanks once again goes to our fantastic Friends of Rydal Penrhos committee for their continued commitment to supporting the work we are doing here, and it really does mean an awful lot to each pupil and staff member.
“Hopefully their latest fundraising scheme will carry on their great success and we wish them well with the campaign.”
Anyone wishing to donate unwanted crayons can do so in the box located in the Prep School reception area or at Hickory’s situated on Llandudno Road.
