Congratulations also go to Isabel Stubbings for her portrait of Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, which was part of a special project where all Party leaders’ were painted in the lead-up to the General Election.

Three of our academic pupils also gained their pen licenses this week, with Will Glanville, Lucy Ranales-Griffiths and Jasmin Beckett-Donald receiving recognition.

Living:

It has been a busy few days for Lucy, who finished second in an U10 Tennis tournament despite playing against opponents that were older and more experienced – well done to her!

Cammie de la Mare Norris joined a hoard of other female fundraisers at the Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life, which was held in Rhyl on Sunday June 11.

The women-only event started and finished at the Events Arena situated on the town’s promenade, and she received a medal after completing the five kilometre course.

Our Year 6 class at Rydal Penrhos took part in a special walk up Mount Snowdon on Thursday, which is part of a series of fun-filled and challenging activities devised for them before they depart.

There is no stopping our skiing sensation Xavier Poynton, who came away from the latest leg of the Ski Rossendale Summer Race League with first place in the U8 Male section after a blistering performance.

A huge well done also goes to Eloise Brown, who produced a fantastic effort to pass her Grade One Dance assessment, which was administered by the Royal Academy of Dance.

It has been another week to remember for our young karate kids, who have achieved a host of impressive grading success, with some now within touching distance of gaining a prestigious Black Belt!

Isabel Stubbings took part in a quarter mile open water swimming race in Lake Windermere, which was set up as part of the Great North Swim and held in extremely difficult conditions, so well done to her for braving the elements.

Following a surprise inspection by Conwy County Council’s Environment Health Officer this week, our catering facilities retained their five score, which is the highest available mark they can receive.

Well done to Darren and the team for their continued efforts.
