Boarding pupils at Rydal Penrhos met up within the school grounds for a special social event prior to the first full week of the academic year.
Headmaster Simon Smith welcomed boarding pupils and staff to his Heathfield home for a Boarders’ Barbecue on Sunday, September 9.
The guests were treated to a lavish spread courtesy of Rydal Penrhos’ new catering providers Holroyd Howe, which also included salad and a vegan option.
The school’s boarding community socialised and enjoyed another beautiful evening on the North Wales coast and this the latest prominent event put on as part of the boarding life experience at Rydal Penrhos, which have been implemented with a view to enhancing the overall experience of each pupil throughout their time within the RP community.
There a huge number of examples of such events thanks to Rydal Penrhos’ thriving Weekend Activities programme, while boarders also participate in weekly sporting fixtures, trips, and the all-important house competitions.
They are also given plenty of time to reflect and immerse themselves in their respective studies, with staff on hand at any given time to lend support and advice when needed.
Deputy Head Tim Cashell, said: “Our Boarders’ Barbecues have become hugely popular since the arrival of Holroyd Howe to Rydal Penrhos, and I would like to thank them on behalf of the school for putting on some fantastic food for staff and pupils.
“Boarding is a huge part of our ethos here and events like this are a great way to interact in a relaxed environment to ready themselves for the academic and co-curricular challenges that lie ahead.”
