A Rydal Penrhos staff member has started the new golf season with a pair of achievements.
Dawn Jones, a sports coach at the school, performed well at a pair of tournaments at Rhos on Sea Golf Club as she looks to add to her outstanding list of accolades this term.
The seven handicapper came away with first place from the Peugeot Coronation Foursomes on April 12 together with partner Norma Roberts.
The duo produced a stunning round to finish with 32 points, four clear of Jennifer Stewart and Carol Williams in second place.
This success came on the back of an eye-catching display in the GUW Medal Silver and Bronze Challenge Bowl, where she achieved the lowest gross score title with an impressive score of 80.
In addition to her golfing exploits, the staff member is also a former Welsh hockey international and is currently inspiring the next generation of stars at Rydal Penrhos.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “Dawn is an incredibly gifted golfer and it is great to see her starting the season in fine form.
“She is a valued member of the staff here at Rydal Penrhos and her success serves as a form of inspiration for our golf academy stars as they look to make their mark on the game.”
