Golf: Adrian, Charley and Sam hone skills ahead of new season at Junior Camp

Three Golf Academy members at Rydal Penrhos honed their skills ahead of a busy summer of fixtures at a special session recently.

Adrian Lewis, Charley Simpson and Samuel Jones travelled to the school’s Academy partners at North Wales Golf Club to take part in a Junior Golf Camp, which saw young hopefuls get some expert tips under the guidance of 2017 Wales PGA Professional of the Year Robin Hughes.

During the camp, the trio worked on specific areas including short game technique, in addition to putting more yards on your long irons and drives from the tee.

They concluded the day with a 12-hole competition around the picturesque course in Llandudno, and this is the latest in a series

Rydal Penrhos’ Golf Academy has a long and proud association with North Wales Golf Club since its inception, with the programme going from strength-to-strength thanks to some incredible regional, national and international success from the likes of Adrian, Charley and Reuben Bather.

The facility was recently crowned Wales Golf Club of the Year at a lavish ceremony at The Celtic Manor.

Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “It was always great to see our young golfers doing some impressive work outside of school hours, which has done wonders for them in terms of their overall development.

“We are very proud of our association with North Wales Golf Club, which has played a leading role in the success of our Academy thanks to their specialist coaching to members and Lower School pupils.”
