Three Golf Academy stars at Rydal Penrhos have been rewarded for their exceptional efforts throughout the season with a wealth of impressive accolades.
Adrian Lewis, Charley Simpson and Richard Wolfendale picked up no fewer than four trophies between them from the Junior Awards Evening at North Wales Golf Club in Llandudno.
Year 11 pupil Richard developed his game a significant amount throughout a series of competitions during the summer, which saw him scoop the Simon Robertson Trophy and Collins Trophy in recognition of his sterling efforts.
Sports scholar Charley is now the proud owner of the Mowlem Trophy as he continues to make a significant impression at regional level, in addition to his ongoing dedication to the Golf Union Wales’ Academy programme.
Rounding off the achievements from a Rydal Penrhos perspective was Adrian, who came away with the John Smith's Brewery Trophy to further highlight how much his game has progressed in a relatively short space of time.
The trio have all played a massive role in the success of Rydal Penrhos’ Golf Academy, which continues to thrive under the guidance and leadership of programme co-ordinator Ian Richardson.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “Adrian, Charley and Richard were in tremendous form last season and worked incredibly hard to achieve what they did, so to see their dedication rewarded like this is especially pleasing.
“They are all very talented and possess a fantastic willingness to get better and learn on a daily basis, and each of them have used the winter to improve further which will undoubtedly stand them in good stead going forward.”
