Budding Preparatory School footballers turned in a fabulous performance to claim silverware at a high-profile regional competition.
Rydal Penrhos’ U11 side travelled to The Firs School on Friday, October 19 for a special competition that featured a host of other sides from across Cheshire and the North West.
After a hugely competitive group stage, the team of Zack Coverley, Cieran Milligan, Freddie MacLaverty. Dominic Chamberlain, Will Glanville, Will Hibbert and Freddie Barrington-Chance performed exceptionally well to secure a place in the Plate elimination event after a sterling effort.
They managed to book their place in the Plate final against Avalon School, and the Rydal Penrhos team demonstrated their incredible potential with a 2-0 victory to come away with the title.
Each member of the squad has been working incredibly hard under the watchful eye of Head of Boys’ Games Jamie McLeod in the lead-up to the tournament, this will stand the squad in extremely good stead as they look to claim further success following the half term break.
Mr McLeod, said: “It was a very pleasing performance from the team, who worked together extremely well as a unit and they can be immensely proud of their achievements.
“They were led superbly by captain Zack, and it was also great to see Will and Dominic from Year 5 playing above their age level and contributing significantly.”
