Excitement is building ahead of the highly anticipated Staff versus Leavers’ football match later this week.
Pupils who are set to depart the school following their exams this summer will once again look to claim bragging rights over staff members, and this year’s clash will take place at the Giant Hospitality Stadium, the home of Dafabet Welsh Premier League outfit Llandudno on Friday, May 19.
The pupils come into the game in good form, having beaten Ellesmere College 2-1, but have endured a frustrating time due to postponements thanks to the adverse weather conditions.
Staff, who will consists of teachers and support staff, will be looking to avenge their narrow 5-4 defeat last year and boast a number of former league players, in addition to current WPL referee Mark Petch.
Teacher Darren Baker, said: “The annual Leavers’ versus Staff clash is always a hotly contested affair, with plenty of pride at stake for both sides.
“It is always played in a great spirit and the game gives our departing pupils a chance to get one over on the staff before they head off this summer.
“Supporters are welcome and we hope to see as many people there as possible to cheer on both sides.”
It promises to be a hotly contested matchup between the two sides, with the likes of Jack Sissons, Euan Humphries, Adam Sabri and Anton Holthaus looking to put one over on teachers and support staff before they head off on their further education adventure.
