Preparatory School parents will have the chance to contribute to their child’s learning thanks to an ongoing initiative.
Thanks to the initial success of Rydal Penrhos’ family reading sessions, the school have announced that the scheme will continue throughout the spring term.
They will again begin at 8.30am at the Lyndon Library and have been set-up with the aim of encouraging reading outside of classroom hours, in addition to improve speech in-front of an audience.
The sessions will be available for Year 3 to Year 6 parents, and any parent that wishes to come along can do so at their convenience.
3JW will take part in the first session of the term on Thursday, January 11, before any pupil in 4CEC can participate in their session on January 18.
5JP (February 8), 6JM (February 22), 6AG (March 8) and 5CC (March 22) are the other sessions confirmed during the term.
Deputy Head Alison Hind, said: “The response we have had to our Family Reading sessions have been extremely positive, and we are delighted that they are going to be continuing into the summer term.
“Improving reading at home is something that is easy to do and it is hugely beneficial to a child’s learning, and this is something our parents here at Rydal Penrhos are eager to get involved with.”
