A wealth of exciting activities have been planned as Rydal Penrhos once again lends its support to a continental initiative.
The school have produced an exciting calendar of events to celebrate Languages Week, which has been implemented with a view to celebrating the different nationalities currently living and learning at Rydal Penrhos.
The festivities kick off on Tuesday, September 21 with a special Crepe making demonstration at the school’s Food and Nutrition department during lunchtime, and this will be followed by a French Film Night at Edwards Girls’ Boarding House, where those in attendance will view “Le Havre”.
Those with a passion for words have the chance to test their skills against one another in an International Scrabble session on Wednesday at 1.30pm in the Modern Foreign Languages Department, and staff will also get the chance to learn something new on Thursday at a special Finnish Workshop.
The week’s events concluded on Friday with the ever-popular Waffle Sale at break, and Sixth Formers are invited to attend a Linguists Lunch in the Dining Room.
Deputy Head Tim Cashell, said: “Last year’s Languages Week was a huge success, and this year promises to be no different thanks to the exciting schedule put together by Head of Modern Foreign Languages Susan Livingstone and her fantastic team.
“We are extremely proud of our diverse culture here at Rydal Penrhos, who broadens the minds of each pupil at our Prep and Senior sites, and this celebration will be another wonderful demonstration of this and the benefits it has on their overall development.”
