Exciting new Drama Scholars' workshop launched

A group of aspiring Performing Artists at Rydal Penrhos attended the first session of a brand new opportunity during the summer term.

The school held its first Drama Scholars’ Workshop with teacher Fiona Earle on Monday, April 29, which is a new and exciting addition to Rydal Penrhos’ thriving provision within the Arts.

During the first session, those in attendance went over the schedule that they will be taking part in over the next few weeks, which will focus on various elements of performing in a series of thought-provoking activities.

The workshop is for those that have secured Drama scholarships at Rydal Penrhos, thanks to a successful application process during enrolment.

It has been another incredible academic year of achievement for the school’s Drama provision, which included a sensational Dramatic Society production of Les Misérables, LAMDA grading success, prizes galore from the Chester Festival and a hilarious Speech and Drama Comedy Night.

Miss Earle, said: “Our Drama Scholars represent the school in a hugely positive way, both within the community and at various performances we put on throughout the academic year.

“Hopefully this new workshop initiative will further aid their development on stage, and it is going to be an exciting few weeks for all them before they head off on their well-deserved summer break.”
