Excitement builds ahead of annual Prep Secrets Room

Preparatory School staff and parents will transform into elves for the day in the name of charity.

The festive felines will put on their best elf outfits for the school’s annual Secrets Room initiative, which will take place on Thursday, December 6.

For a small donation, pupils enter the Lyndon Library where they will be able to pick two gifts of their choosing to give to loved ones on Christmas Day, before having them specially wrapped by the school’s resident elves, who are also members of the Friends of Rydal Penrhos committee, before returning to the classroom.

A minimum donation of £5 per pupil will be charged for the room, with all proceeds going to the school's ongoing work in Uganda.

How it works:

  • A minimum donation of £5.00 per child for entry.
  • You donate a minimum of two presents per child. They do not need to be ex-pensive, they can be unused gifts, unwanted presents, or new items. They do need to be of a quality that you would like to receive yourself.
  • Years 1, 2, 4 & 6CC to supply ladies’ gifts
  • Reception, Years 3, 5 & 6JM to supply gentlemen’s gifts
  • Early Years to supply chocolates please.
  • Your child can choose two presents, which will be wrapped along with a packet of reindeer dust.
  • Please would you drop off your donations at Reception

Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “Our Secrets Room is something that our pupils always really look forward to, and it brings the festive season to life before they head off on their well-deserved break.

“Our Friends of Rydal Penrhos committee do so much fabulous work throughout all areas of school life, and their selfless contribution is very much valued by staff and pupils alike.”
