Emotions ran high as Preparatory School pupils were honoured at a special event to bring the curtain down on the academic year.
The entire Rydal Penrhos Prep School community descended on the Memorial Hall on Friday, July 6, where they were joined by staff and family for their annual Speech Day.
Achievements across all age groups were recognised in what has been another memorable year at the Prep School, with Chair of Governors’ Julian Barnes and Senior School Headmaster Simon Smith also in attendance.
All pupils from Years 3-6 were given a certificate for their incredible efforts of the course of the year, with individual awards given out to those who have stood out in a specific field.
Head Boy James Gilman and Head Girl Cerys Williams showed fantastic composure during their eagerly anticipated address, with the Deputy Head team of Ella Northcott, Liam Farrell and India Livingstone also taking the stage for a round-up of everything that transpired during another very busy academic year.
A number of musical performances from each year group was another notable highlight of the event, which saw every pupil in attendance make a significant contribution to the celebrations.
Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “It was lovely to see so many parents and friends with us to celebrate the achievements of all our children and to mark the end of a chapter and stage in our pupils’ lives.
“This particularly applies to our Year 6 children as they move on to pastures new, whether that be metres away as they transition on to our senior school, or several miles into new school communities.”
