An aspiring Preparatory School martial artist has moved one-step closer to a prestigious black belt after another successful grading success.
Ellie Knight, a Year 5 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, is now the proud owner of a Black and White belt first star, which is a pre-Dan Level One grade.
The nine-year-old secured the assessment achievement after impressing adjudicators at the John Lynn Black Belt Martial Arts Academy in Colwyn Bay, where she attends weekly sessions alongside a host of other pupils across different age groups.
This is essentially the first step on a five-year journey to a Black Belt, which is the highest honour involved in the discipline at any level.
Ellie has already begun working hard outside of school hours with a view to making her dream a reality in the coming months.
Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “Ellie is a multi-talented pupil who is thriving both academically and throughout her co-curricular activities, and this represents another significant milestone and one that she can be enormously proud of.
“There is nothing that phases her and she is enormously determined to make the very most out of every opportunity that is presented to her, and this attitude is going to stand Ellie in enormously good stead as she goes throughout not only her education pathway, but in life overall.
"Everyone at Rydal Penrhos is very proud of what Ellie has and continues to achieve, and we wish her the very best of luck with her future Karate assessments."
