A gifted Preparatory School dancer is celebrating after achieving a notable grading success.
Ellie Knight, a Year 3 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, produced a fantastic effort to achieve a merit in her Primary Tap assessment, which was administered by the Dance Examinations Board.
The eight-year-old gained a total of 30 out of 40 marks in the technique section of her grading, which included 7/10 scores in Poise and Stance and Precision of Footwork, while gaining 8/10 in her Clarity of Beating and Line and Co-Ordination.
She continued to impress in the Rhythm category, where she achieved 15 out of a possible 20 thanks to an 8/10 in Timing and 7/10 in Rhythmic Interpretation.
The final stage proved to be her most impressive, scoring 32 out of 40 in her Presentation, Response and Knowledge, which included a fantastic 9/10 in her knowledge of the syllabus.
This results in a final score of 77/100, earning Ellie a Merit for her wonderful efforts.
The pupil, who attends Pearl Shaw School of Performing Arts in Colwyn Bay, will no begin preparing in the hope of achieving further success in the future.
Prep School head Roger McDuff, said: “This is great news and Ellie deserves an enormous amount of credit for the way she prepared and performed during the assessment.
“She is one of many multi-talented pupils we have here at Rydal Penrhos, and she gives up a lot of her time to gain extra-curricular experience and awards, which is something we actively encourage.”
