A Sixth Form pupil at Rydal Penrhos has been rewarded for his academic efforts with a place at a North West University.
Edward Lunt, who held the role of Prefect at the school last year, has been accepted to study Law at the University of Leeds after an impressive set of A-level results.
The 18-year-old secured an A grade in Drama in addition to B’s in both Economics and English as a result of his dedicated preparation ahead of his examinations.
This achievement is a culmination of a hugely successful time at Rydal Penrhos for the pupil, who began his time at the school 15 years ago when he enrolled as a Reception class child in 2002.
He became renowned for his acting abilities thanks to powerful performances in both To Kill a Mockingbird and Annie the Musical, which attracted almost 1,000 people over a four-night period.
Edward also achieved sporting success with the school’s first XV rugby side, who emerged victorious in the Cheshire Plate earlier this year.
Head of Sixth Form Pete Lavery, said: “Edward has been a valued member of the Rydal Penrhos community for the entirety of his education so far, and we are thrilled that he will now go on to study Law thanks to his hard work and dedication.
“His Dramatic Society performances were a particular highlight, but his influence as a Sixth Former has equally stood out and we wish him the very best as he moves on to the next stage of his journey.”
