Duo achieve success with Grays Gymnastics Club

A pair of talented young gymnasts continue to develop significantly at a local club.

Will Glanville and Eleanor Turner, Year 4 and 2 pupils at Rydal Penrhos, have taken part in a series of competitions throughout a busy season that has seen the duo achieve some notable accolades.

This was recognised at the Grays Gymnastics Club Awards night, where Will was presented with the title of Most Dedicated Gymnast.

Hannah Rushton, who also teaches gymnastics at Rydal Penrhos, stated that the Prep School pupil “always gives 100 per cent and is constantly asking intelligent questions to try and improve”.

There was further cause for celebration from a school perspective in the form of Eleanor, who continued her exceptional progression in the discipline with a strong performance at a regional competition recently.

The seven-year-old received a certificate as a result of her tremendous performance, where she held her nerve in front of a large crowd to boost her experience in a competitive environment.

Deputy Head Alison Hind, said: “We have a large number of pupils that attend Grays Gymnastics Club, and Hannah is doing some wonderful work there and indeed when she visits Rydal Penrhos for special sessions.

“This seems to be improving the confidence of each pupil taking part, and it is great to hear of the continued success thanks to committed individuals like Will and Eleanor.”
