Rydal Penrhos School has officially confirmed its new Deputy Head Boy and Girl team for the 2018/19 academic year.
Lower Sixth Form pupils Miles Poller and Nuria Sendros Montolio have been appointed to the respective roles, with Headmaster Simon Smith formally revealing the decision at the school’s annual Speech Day event on Saturday, May 26.
The duo impressed considerably during the application process and will be working closely with new Head Boy Nick Fiorita and Head Girl Gowri Pradeep in the coming months during a very exciting time for the school.
Miles is an incredibly talented individual who is excelling academically, while also showing immense potential in Music and Drama thanks to the work he is putting in with Rydal Penrhos’ dedicated staff.
He is a superb saxophone player and has played a huge role in the success of the Jazz Band, and his impressive expression on stage saw Miles contribute significantly to Dramatic Society shows such as To Kill a Mockingbird and Annie the Musical in recent years.
Nuria has fully immersed herself into the Rydal Penrhos community since arriving as a Year 9 pupil in 2015, and has become a leading figure to inspire the younger generation during her first year of Sixth Form life.
Her charity work has drawn widespread plaudits and the 17-year-old is also making a massive impression by academically and in a sporting environment.
Head of Sixth Form Pete Lavery, said: “Both Miles and Nuria have worked incredibly hard during the application process and throughout their time here at Rydal Penrhos, and both are going to be fantastic in their respective roles.
“They are both valued and respected members of the school community and I am confident they are going to represent Rydal Penrhos superbly over the coming weeks and months.”
