Time is running out for any prospective Sixth Form pupils looking to apply for a scholarship to Rydal Penrhos next year.
The deadline for applications is Monday, November 12, with the school offering scholarships to pupils who show outstanding talent in various fields: academic, art, drama, music and sport.
This will follow on from Rydal Penrhos’ annual Into the Sixth Form Information Evening, which will be held at the newly refurbished Ferguson Centre on Tuesday, November 6.
During the event those attending will have an opportunity to see just what is available at Rydal Penrhos during the final two years of school life, including an in-depth look at the A-level curriculum in addition to the large of extra-curricular initiatives offered and there will also be a chance to speak with current pupils and key staff.
Scholarship awards are determined by the Entrance examinations, scholarship exams, an interview with Headmaster Simon Smith or a member of the Senior Management Team and, where appropriate, a practical assessment in school of the candidate’s proficiency in his or her chosen area.
Scholarships are normally awarded for the duration of the pupil’s school career, on condition that the pupil remains a committed and positive member of the school community, and actively contributes to Rydal Penrhos’ academic or co-curricular life.
This year’s Entrance and Scholarship examinations day will take place on Saturday, November 18, and places will be confirmed by mid-December in readiness for the academic year commencing in September 2018.
