A group of talented young cricketers have been making a name for themselves for their regional sides during the season.
Prep School Head Boy James Gilman, together with the Year 7 duo of George Watkins and Arran Sen, competed against each other as Mochdre U13s took on Colwyn Bay and all three performed exceptionally well during what was a hugely impressive display of young talent throughout.
Bay managed to emerge victorious from the contest, with Arran playing a huge part in their success thanks to his superb spell of leg spin bowling that left a number of batsmen mesmerised.
James also shone on his step-up to U13 level, taking a wicket with just his second delivery and bowled well during a consistent three-over spell.
There was further cause for celebration for James as part of the Mochdre U11 side, who managed to seal a fine victory over nearby rivals Llandudno.
Also featuring throughout the game from Rydal Penrhos were Harry Fardoe, Cieran Milligan and Grace Watkins, who all contributed significantly to the confidence-boosting success.
Their work with the school’s winter nets programme has seen them hit the ground running at the start of the season, something that is benefitting both Rydal Penrhos and club progress ahead of what is sure to be a busy summer.
Head of Boys’ Games Jamie McLeod, said: “It is always great to see our dedicated pupils achieving success with their respective cricket club sides, which is a testament not only to their talent, but also their ability to perform well in a competitive environment and the pressures that come with it.”
