A host of talented cricketers at Rydal Penrhos guided a local youth side to regional success last weekend.
Three pupils from both Senior and Prep sites were part of the Mochdre U11 side that took on Buckley in the North Wales Police Challenge Shield on Sunday, March 17.
Year 7 pupil George Watkins, together with James Gilman (Y6) and Cieran Milligan (Y5), all contributed significantly throughout the contest, which saw Mochdre come up narrowly short in the regional finals.
It has been a fine season for each of the players as part of the side, with Biv Gilmartin, another Prep pupil, featuring in their Eryri Cup triumph over Bethesda to book their place at the showcase.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “All four pupils involved with Mochdre have enjoyed an enormous amount of success, and their development both here at Rydal Penrhos and for their local club is going to aid their progression considerably.
“They are all very hard working and have so much scope for further improvement given their natural ability and age, and our dedicated staff will endeavour to ensure that their game improves over the winter months so they are prepared in the best possible way as they look to emulate their fine achievements during what was a busy summer for the group.”
