An ambitious Preparatory School pupil took the first steps into a possible engineering career after participating in a high-profile course.
Cieran Milligan, a Year 5 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, participated in a summer holiday programme at Jaguar Land Rover in Halewood, which has been implemented to get children interested in careers relating to engineering.
The nine-year-old was given a guided tour of the factory and participated in a selection of hands-on activities designed to strengthen team building and engineering skills.
He also visited specialist areas of the Halewood production process and met with Jaguar Land Rover apprentices and other engineering staff to find out more about the world of work.
The pupil won a prize for the best designed Health and Safety poster during the programme, and mother Claudine stated Cieran “had a fabulous time and learnt a lot about the process of making the Land Rover vehicles”.
Deputy Head Alison Hind, said: “It is always wonderful to hear of our pupils using their initiative and learning new things during the summer break, which is something we always actively encourage here at Rydal Penrhos.
“Cieran deserves enormous credit for tackling the course with his usual enthusiasm, which seems to be endless and this experience is sure to stand him in good stead for any future forays into the field.”
