A Preparatory School Track and Field star turned in a podium finish at a regional event.
Cieran Milligan, a Year 5 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, was competing against some of the best young athletes in the region at the North Wales Regional indoor Athletics Championships, which took place on Saturday, January 13.
The 10-year-old, who was representing Colwyn Bay Athletics Club, competed in the 50-metre sprint at U11 level and clocked a fantastic time of 7.89 seconds to claim second place.
This is the latest in a long line of successes for the pupil, who has been selected to the Eryri Cricket Wales (National Development Centre) after being put forward for trials by his coaches at Mochdre.
He also received the Tackler of the Year award from Colwyn Bay Rugby Club and played a starring role in the U11 Rugby 7s Prep School side’s North West Festival victory at St Mary’s Hall.
Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “This was a fantastic start to the season for Cieran and it bodes well for further achievements in the future.
“He is an enormously talented individual in a large number of areas, and despite his tender age he has shown tremendous poise and composure when performing at competitive events.
“Cieran’s potential is huge and we will strive to ensure that his goals are fulfilled here at Rydal Penrhos.”
