A large number of Preparatory School pupils have climbed the ladder of a thriving academic initiative.
Rydal Penrhos staff devised the popular scheme for pupils last year, which has three different levels each with 110 words.
The pupils have been encouraged to work towards their incremental targets of Gold, Silver and Bronze within each stage, and a host of pupils hit the ground running at the start of the academic year to complete various levels of the initiative.
Jaxson Lynch, Ella Ffowcs Williams, Freddie Griffin, Beatrice Brookes Fazakerley, Ela Lloyd Bloom, Harrison Simmons, Keelan Shilton, Alexandra Lopez Moreno, Oscar Kennedy Evans, Charlotte Knight and Elliott Spall all now move on to Stage Two of the challenge after securing their Stage One Goldf Award thanks to their outstanding dedication during the initial stages of the school year.
There was further cause for celebration in the form of Darcey Taylor, James Mart, Lily Robinson Scoots, Archie-Glyn Chesworth, Francesca Berklay and Clara Donohue, who achieved their Stage One Silver Award, with William Aspell and Lissy Williams rounding off the achievement with their Stage One Bronze.
Each pupil will now begin working hard on their vocabulary in the hope of gaining further recognition in the coming weeks.
Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “This is a fantastic start to the academic year for our Spelling Challenge candidates, who continue to show a tremendous amount of enthusiasm and dedication to gain individual accolades that will give them a great deal of confidence as the term progresses.”
