A talented Triathlete continued his excellent recent run of results with a strong showing at a regional event.
Cameron Shaw, a Year 10 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, formed part of the Tristars Conwy team that competed at the Bala Team Triathlon, which was made up of a predominantly adult field.
The pupil produced some very encouraging performances throughout the event, with the team securing a podium finish of second in the Mixed Relay event, only losing out to the Welsh national adult squad in their pursuit of gold.
They followed this up with a sixth-place finish, rounding off another very successful competition for Cameron and other club members.
Cameron has enjoyed a hugely successful campaign to further enhance his ever-growing reputation, with the pupil invited to compete at the British Triathlon Junior and Youth Super Series thanks to his sterling efforts in a competitive setting.
He also turned in a truly incredible performance at the school’s annual Sports Day, with Cameron securing a new record in his age category following a convincing win in the Rydal Mile.
Head of Physical Education Nicky Head, said: “Cameron’s progression throughout the season has come as a result of his ongoing commitment to improvement and his ability to perform well on a consistent basis.
“This has brought with it some significant rewards and there is no telling what he can go on to achieve in the future if he continues to show the same desire and application.”
